Balancing family and home life, work, blogs & tweets, and scrounging for some semblance of a grown-up social life is utterly exhausting.Yet, as caretakers we do this methodically day in and day out.
I, for one, rely on computing to organize the day to day aspects of caring for my husband, 5 children and 2 nephews. Spreadsheets, lists, school projects, meal planning, email, shopping, photosharing, blogging and tweeting in my spare time, as well as the online courses that I am subscribed to as I tackle my graduate degree in Nursing. It would be a blessing to have a reliable and pleasantly portable computer, such as the HP 110 Mini Netbook, to help streamline, coordinate and simplify all of these aspects of my life--anytime and anywhere. Here's my attempt at poetic justice.
HP-Hear My Plea! Please, Simplify My Life
For the love of my family that I do adore,
all of our photos, documents, recipes and more
are entrusted to just one, lonely, desktop dinosaur.
Our burgeoning family has the highest faith and trust,
in an old, laggard machine that could soon bite the dust.

and Integrated Wireless technology would get me online easily,
This way I could still shop, plan meals, share photos and tweet,
homework, blogging and bill paying would be no huge feat!

ReplyDeleteA mini would definitely simplify my life because I wouldn't have to lug around that big heavy laptop anymore!! And it would fit inside my handbag instead of being so conspicuous in a carry around laptop bag. And besides, you don't always want to carry your laptop with you but leaving it in the car is a direct invitation to thieves to break in and steal it. Being able to carry it in my purse is a major advantage! Great giveaway!

ReplyDelete1. I could use it to do my homework while getting my chemo treatments 1 1/2 hrs. from home.
2. My son and I woudn't have to wait in line or bother each other for the desktop.
3. I could blog upstairs where it is nice and warm.
4. I could use it for homework{it would save the work that I worked 24 hrs. on}
5. I could email people and they would receive it!
6. I could keep in touch with my family and friends.
Everytime I go and visit someone else who would L-O-V-E their life simplified, it humbles me and lets me know that they're in need of their life simplified more than I.
Remember not to sweat the small stuff, because it is all small stuff;}

I can quickly get to my photos and files, take notes, send a letter off to friends, teachers and family, able to work on my scrapbooks while sitting and waiting for the kids at band or dance practice,very lightweight to take with me on the go. Simplify my life? You have no idea how much this would simplify my life. My husband just moved from MN to PA for a new job and I had to stay behind to finish things up. He had to take our computer for work which left me without one. Now I have to go to the public library after work in order to check out my favorite blogs and read email and work on my school work. My girls alwyas have things going on, this would help so I could travel with my work, projects,email, blogging, etc.. We are always battling for the computer at home, since we have only 1. My obligations are way too many.
I have nothing portable but me,
An HP mini would let me see,
Where I should be and when,
I might even be organized then!
I'm a traveling granny,
The cities are many,
For this once stay-at-home mom,
Winning this would be the bomb!
It would simplify my life as I can't get anything done because my current laptop gets too hot and shuts down every ten minutes!

currently me and dh are both working on degrees outside our job. We try not to fight over one laptop but 5 out of 10 times we do. I can’t afford a new laptop so winning this one would simplify my life immensely.

I'd love to simplify my busy life that has gotten way out of hand. I used to be able to but my son dropped my cherished laptop and it is now a doorstop and getting any time on my husband's desktop is next to impossible. The Tord HP Mini would really make my life simpler by being able to move freely around my home and still be connected to the internet to complete the daily task… emailing, blogging, search for information, etc. It would also be great to take to my many doctor appointments where there are times I have to sit and wait to see my doctor for an hour or more…. I could stay busy and pass the time more quickly by playing games, responding to email, etc. Good luck to you and I!!!!

Im a recruiter and I am on the road all the time. I don't have a laptop so when I get home I have to enter all of my notes -etc. on the computer. IF I had something like this -I could enter the info on the road and then I would have more time to spend with my littleone!

ReplyDeleteWell, a day ago I would have told you all about how I work online and despite the fact that my business in web design and blogging/blog design has suffered in the economy I always have managed to pay the bills and keep a roof over our heads but due to being self employed I don't get out of the house much...in fact I don't get out at all because I am the only one in my company so for 16hrs a day I work at my desk, on my couch or even in bed. Having a mini would at least enable me to get out and about and maybe spend a few hours a week in a coffee shop making new friends while conducting business. I desperately want to become less of a hermit. Today, I will tell you that my laptop is dead, as in completely dead, as in a black screen and nothing more and I really don't know what I'm going to do because I just don't have the cash to replace it. I'm sure I'll find a way because I always do, where there's a will there's a way right? But it would certainly help me to get a living mini to work from!

I recently finished my doctorate and am looking at a very transitory next few years as I move to several different cities to complete a postdoctoral fellowship and apply for jobs at universities. I'd love to be able to trade in (or trash) my ancient, bulky desktop for this sleep, mobile laptop. The fact that it comes loaded with many of the programs I already depend on is a great added bonus.
