Lands’ End is getting ready to kick off its FeelGood Campaign! This initiative is a terrific way to shop and feel good about giving to homeless individuals and families across the country. For every Lands’ End FeelGood sweater that is purchased, the company will donate signature FeelGood yarn to One Heart Foundation’s Warming Families, a nationwide knitting charity. One cone of FeelGood yarn is enough to make 28 hats, to be donated to homeless individuals in communities across the country. Lands’ End expects to donate thousands of pounds of yarn to the charity; where volunteers plan to knit up to 25,000 hats and other items to warm the homeless and displaced during the brutal winter months across the country.
Now, doesn't that give you a warm, fuzzy feeling inside? Are you interested in finding out how you can simply participate in this great cause? Visit any Land's End retail outlet or shop online, and purchase a sweater. Oh, so you can knit? You also can knit and donate some cozy hat's to the FeelGood Campaign, via a participating volunteer group in your area!
Unfortunately, I've never had the opportunity to learn how to knit. My beloved Grandma made some beautiful pieces that I still have cherished all these years beyond her passing. Luckily for you and I, I have come across a GREAT video tutorial on the Lands’ End You Tube channel hosted by Vickie Howell, best-selling craft author and star of DIY Network's Knitty Gritty. She takes you through step-by-step instructions and will have you confidently knitting in no time at all. Vickie Howell has also exclusively designed Two hat patterns for Lands’ End for you to use! The FeelGood Campaign is a great cause and I hope many of you will become warmly inspired to find a way to participate!
