Samsung Home Appliances and TwitterMoms have teamed up to create an easy blogging contest that centers around one simple question:

The heart of a home is generally a special place where family, friends and loved-ones gather; where memories are made, shared and fondly revisited; and a place where you come together as a family.

As for me, I could easily say that the heart of my home is the kitchen-- mostly because my DH and I love to toil in there. Any given weeknight you'll find us huddled and harried, with all of the kids pressed close and tight against us at the counter. Our 5 kids (+2 adorable nephews) are inquisitive, eager and impatient--wanting to contribute in some way with the dinner preparation, often stepping on each others toes. I could easily say that the heart of my home is the dining room table-- where our family comes together as a unified entity, basking in the glory of the Lord who continues to amaze and provide for us everyday. I could easily say that the heart of my home is my bedroom--(save for the sanctity between any espoused couple) it happens to be a safe haven for our children who know our door is always open with an open ear, a place where sibling disputes are rectified, a place where they know that they can lay there heads at night when sour dreams or stuffy noses befall them. I could easily say that the heart of my home is the coffee table in my den--which happens to be where the family congregates in the evening to read, do homework, play board games, conjure up creative pictures, or resting Mommy's weary feet . This same table reminds us of when the twins and each of my nephews relied on its sturdiness for support in their first toddling steps. These places and inanimate objects each could aptly describe the heart of my home. In all honesty, they would be lonely and desolate places and objects without the significance of my family and loved ones to share them with. My family and loved ones are those who help make my home extraordinary. So, with that I say to you that ♥the heart of my home is my family.♥
