Let's Think Pink Together® --and a Giveaway, too!

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and My BlogSpark wants to introduce Multiple Blessings readers to an online community on MySpace,  where those touched by Breast Cancer can connect and provide support, comfort, and encouragement to one another.

On PinkTogether.com everyone can share hope by posting and reading inspiring stories of breast cancer survivors and supporters within the community.

The site is part of Pink Together®, a national campaign to support those impacted by breast cancer and to help raise awareness of the disease. To support
Pink Together®, General Mills is donating $2 million to Susan G. Komen  For the Cure® and is turning featured product packaging pink this month on an assortment of its most beloved brands. General Mills will also donate $1, up to $20,000, each time you post a comment of encouragement, send a virtual flower bouquet or share a story on PinkTogether.com through October 31, 2009.

I am asking begging you to help us spread the word about this important program. Please visit PinkTogether.com and read some of the inspiring stories. You can also watch these short videos from the 2009 Pink Together Survivor Ambassadors talking about their journeys with breast cancer.

Thanks to My BlogSpark and Pink Together®, I received a stunning Inspiring Hope Gift Basket, and additionally one Multiple Blessings reader will win one as well! The Inspiring Hope Gift Basket includes a sleeved travel mug, a running ribbon charm bracelet, a pink leather strap keychain, a  large and roomy pink cinch backpack/bag, and a set of inspirational note cards. Betty Crocker® Fruit Snacks Review & Simple Joys Gift Pack Giveaway

As a Mom, I know how difficult it can be to find fun, tasty gluten free snacks for my own kids to enjoy, which is why I  wanted to share with you the little known fact that Betty Crocker® Fruit-Flavored Snacks are in fact gluten free. Let's not forget that General Mills Betty Crocker® brand is a well trusted household name, and can be found in any national supermarket chain.

Betty Crocker® Fruit-Flavored Snacks are a snack choice you can feel good about - they are made with real fruit, are low fat, an excellent source of Vitamin C, and each serving is less than 100 calories! Now every kid can enjoy the simple joy of a fun, great tasting gluten free snack.

Well many of you might be thinking, What is Gluten? Gluten is a special type of protein that is commonly found in rye, wheat, and barley. Therefore, it is found in most types of cereals and in many types of bread. Not all foods from the grain family, however, contain gluten. Examples of grains that do not have gluten include wild rice, corn, buckwheat, millet, amaranth, quinoa, teff, oats, soybeans, and sunflower seeds. Gluten essentially helps make bread elastic, providing it with that chewy texture it has when eaten.
Some people suffer from an incurable but manageable disease called Celiac disease, which impedes the digestion of gluten. This autoimmune disorder affects adults as well as children. Individuals with Celiac disease must eat foods that do not contain gluten in order to prevent severe illness, which causes a severe immune system reaction. Celiac disease, a chronic inherited digestive disorder, which can cause damage to the small intestine. It is estimated that one in 133 Americans suffer from Celiac disease – 3 million adults and children are living undiagnosed with this autoimmune disorder, that can be effectively managed by adhering to a gluten-free diet.
To learn more about General Mill's support for Celiac disease and all the gluten-free products available, go to GeneralMills.com.

Together, and with many thanks to MyBlogSpark, I am able to bring you a sweet GIVEAWAY for your family to enjoy. One lucky Multiple Blessings reader will win a pretty “sweet" Betty Crocker® "Simple Joys" prize pack that includes 2 packages of Betty Crocker® Fruit-Flavored Snacks (a variety pack and the Create-A-Bug fruit snacks), a retro Pick `em Up Sticks game, a light-up yo-yo and a classic Frisbee. (look closely and you'll find some extra Box Tops For Education labels) As a child I enjoyed Fruit roll-ups and Gushers. Does anyone remember Fruit Roll Ups Fruit Bars? The commercial jingle went like this "...new Fruit Roll Ups fruit bars---they're so good, they're ugly!" Ha ha, such a throwback to some good times.
