Post-Holiday Shopping Saviness

Fresh from a maddening Holiday Hiatus, yes the Holiday madness is over, sort of. Some of us really feel the let down after the holiday rush.  We’ve put so much of our energy into decorating, entertaining, shopping and celebrating that when it’s all gone by we realize we haven’t really done anything for ourselves.  Well, thank goodness for post-holiday sales and the Internet.  No need to fight the crowds.  There are tons of great offers online, so don’t even think about entering a store for some time. Here are some of the sales and popular styles I’ve had my eye on recently.

Dark Jeans
We love dark, boot cut jeans for most occasions, and these favorites are rarely on sale. Piperlime  is the place to score.
Long Belted Cardigan

A very useful, belted cardigan at an enormously reduced price, just in time for the coldest days of winter.
Ruched Boots

I love the ease of pull–on boots with a ruched shaft to fit nearly anyone, and this style (a favorite of celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe) is perfect for comfort too.
More Deals
It's the New Year's Sale at Macys.com! Customers can save on thousands of sale and clearance items + everyday values! This offer is valid December 30th through January 3rd.

The Kids Too!
Who doesn't love See Kai Run shoes (one of  my boys had particularly wide feet that fit very few brands other than these), and adorable slip–on walker sneakers are on sale now.
Baby, it's cold outside - so Giggle is warming things up with their winter sale! Shop now and save 15-75% on select gear, clothing, furniture, and more!
Hanna's Big Big Twice A Year Sale On Now. Save Up to 60% On Quality Kids Clothes.
Get up to 80% off at The Land of Nod sale.

Great Resources
There are many great one-stop shopping sources for fashion, and one of our favorites is ShopItToMe.com.  It’s like a personal shopper that lets you know the minute certain brands, styles and sizes go on sale. It's great for finding sales on items you love, but can’t afford at full price.  On average, members save over 40% on over 600 brands, and you can choose how often you are alerted so it doesn’t clog your inbox.
There are many great online shoe sources, and only Shoes.com is offering you a savings of 15% through the end of the year with promo code SNOW and 20% on clearance and sale items with the code WINTER (until 1/4/10), plus free shipping is extended through January 31st.

Mom's Must Have Moment Feature: Automated Man: Stuff That Grown Up Boys Should Think ABout...But Don't

Its great that Mom's have a plethora of choices when it comes to shopping around the internet for the coolest items for their kids. But what about the young fellas in your life  who are nearly grown and have one foot out the door and the other foot treading the waters of semi-adulthood? Moms, you know what I'm talking about---your older sons who (sorta live on their own,are away at school, etc) lovingly drop off   their  laundry for you to do and who always have their noses in your fridge. Or your brother who stops by to "shop" at your place for some toilet paper, toothpaste, and swiped your favorite bottle of shampoo. Yeah, I have one of those, too.
You know that its coming---(seriously, its Thanksgiving week) Those young men will be unrecognizably stumbling home with overgrown facial stubble, nasty breath, sweaty, mystery food- stained muscle shirts and stinky sneakers parked on your antique coffee table, with months worth of laundry and a ginormous duffle bag to shop at your place. Or better yet, the all too familiar, "...can I get a couple of bucks to buys some soap and razors and stuff.?"
There has got to be a better way. Its Called Automated Man. Automated Man will deliver a great selection of must-have toiletries every month to your favorite man-child. He'll receive all the standard necessities of  bachelorhood without ever having to hit the store. (And this will save you a boatload of  money and sanity too!) Peace of mind is priceless.

Each month, Automated Man delivers all the name-brand toiletry essentials – shaving kit, toothbrush & paste, deodorant, shampoo & conditioner, condoms (optional) and tons more – direct to your doorstep, or where ever that man-child may be laying his weary head.

Automated Man was created especially for busy young men, agoraphobics, bargain-shoppers, the very lazy… and those who love them, like you and me.  The service is available for $39.99/month ( and is jam packed with $140 worth of stuff); delivery is automatically renewed each month, delivered on the same day, and may be easily canceled at any time (really).   Automated Man includes the following products on a monthly basis: razor blades, shaving cream, after shave, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, chapstick, dental floss, shampoo, soap, deodorant, and cotton swabs; all are name brands and cheaper than store prices. Also, in the first month’s order, the recipient receives a hanging toiletry bag for all their products, as well as a razor and sunscreen. This is $140 worth of stuff, but thru Automated Man you get it for only $39.99 --Plus helpful tips on hygeine, personal care and grooming. That in itself is every Mother's dream, and priceless.
Automated Man is an invaluable service that would be beneficial to any young man living away from home - boarding school, college, military, embarking on a first job in a new city, etc. Seriously, with holidays fast approaching--what makes a better gift than one that saves Mom time and money throughout the year?
